Sons of Anarchy Commission - Juice

Title: Sons of Anarchy Commission - Juice
Medium: Chalk, Charcoal
Scale: Original is 8" x 10"

Notes: Another Sons of Anarchy commission. If you missed the previous one, it's here.
The character of juice was kind of enigmatic in the series, if you're a fan. I would say that he was one of the under-appreciated characters of the whole series, but that's a different type of conversation.
Suffice it to say that I did another piece of Juice Ortiz. He is now sitting with the other four that I did for Memphis Comic Expo a few months ago.
More to come soon...

The Indies Pack

Title: The Indies Pack
Medium: Photoshop CS6, charcoal, chalk, ebony pencil
Scale: Approx. 11" x 17", smaller pieces are 5" x 7"

Notes: This was one of the packs available at the Memphis Comic Expo last weekend.

I can say that I had a blast and met a ton of really awesome people along the way! If there is one thing to open your eyes to the awesomeness of fellow artists, it's a convention. This was my first, and will most definitely not be my last!

Fan Art Friday: A Lost Son

Title: Fan Art Friday: A Lost Son
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 12.825" x 16"

Notes: I think that Opie was one of the more interesting characters of the entire Sons of Anarchy canon, mainly because of the inner struggle that we all deal with. I think ultimately, he's how people would really be in this type of world - struggling to fit in all of our worlds at once. Everyone seems to play this multiple role lifestyle that I think he embodies well.
Hope that you enjoy this one, more to come soon.

Little bonus tutorial as well - to show the steps...

Fan Art Friday Saturday: Consistency is Key

Title: Fan Art Friday Saturday: Consistency is Key
Date: January 2 & 3, 2015
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 38.4" x 25.6"

Notes: If you're a fan of Sons of Anarchy, you'd realize that Juice is probably the most consistent character of the entire bunch - at least in terms of appearance. He looks almost exactly the same from season one to the end. It just goes to show that sometimes iconic characters appear where you'd least expect them.

"Commissioned by Ashley" (I can't help it. I love doing work that she enjoys.)

This piece really took some serious concentration. Not only was it an attempt to see how far I've grown since I started, but this was just a challenge to everything that I've learned so far. Every spot on this piece has at least two separate types of brushes, most of the piece has quite a few more, but I learned a very valuable lesson since digital painting, and that's to make every spot have multiple brush strokes to help your eye stay interested.
Hope you enjoy.

Son of Death

Title: Son of Death
Date: December 9, 2014
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 1244px x 1308px

Notes: So many questions are surrounding this finale!
I couldn't help but think about the fate of Jax!
The series finale of Sons of Anarchy comes on tonight and it needed some more recognition.
Thanks for viewing!

Fan Art Friday: Sons of Anarchy - Oh Juice

Title: Fan Art Friday: Sons of Anarchy - Oh Juice
Date: November 21 & 22, 2014
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Same as above.

Notes: Ugh. I actually ran a little late on this one. At least I can say that I'm legitimately sick this go around, but that's never an excuse, is it?
Another suggestion by Ashley. This is just so damn funny!
More soon.

Fan Art Friday: Sons of Anarchy

Title: Fan Art Friday: Sons of Anarchy
Date: November 14, 2014
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 3840px x 1716px

Notes: While thinking about painting, somehow this tradition was born. Ashley was just talking about a bunch of different things, and she was like... you know what would be awesome? Fan. Art. Friday. I was like... THAT'S GREAT! And thus, a thing was born. Now I just need to keep it up.
I thought it would be fun to put an impressionist spin on a digital painting.
So I present to you, the first in a long string of paintings: Sons of Anarchy.
