Fan Art Friday: Double Feature

Title: Fan Art Friday: Double Feature
Medium: Photoshop CS6

Notes: Two for one... both WIPs at the moment.
Okay, I know this is a bit of a foul for this week, but I am working on a ton of paintings all at the same time, and charcoal drawings, and concept art for other projects. It's a whirlwind of crazy this past week, but I will get it all done... or it will kill me. Either way, there's art on the way!

Fan Art Friday: "HEY YOU GUYS!"

Title: Fan Art Friday: "HEY YOU GUYS!"

Notes: This was a commission for a friend of mine.
An art trade if you will.
Sloth from Goonies!

Fan Art Friday: Samus Aran

Title: Fan Art Friday: Samus Aran
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 12.5" x 18.75"

Notes: I did a demo recently all about my digital painting process.
Hopefully the few that came to see it actually learned a thing or two.

I took a vote a few days beforehand and let them just build up (unfortunately it was a small audience I suppose) and between some of the prospects, Samus managed to win out. Other awesome options were Luna Lovegood, LeeLoo (5th element), even Xena! (Which I want to do all of the ones that were asked, but in time I'm sure...) We went through my entire painting process - albeit quickly because it was for a lunch demo - it enhances my policy of 'teach what you've learned to others' that so many others passed onto me when I first started.

Fan Art Friday: A Lost Son

Title: Fan Art Friday: A Lost Son
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 12.825" x 16"

Notes: I think that Opie was one of the more interesting characters of the entire Sons of Anarchy canon, mainly because of the inner struggle that we all deal with. I think ultimately, he's how people would really be in this type of world - struggling to fit in all of our worlds at once. Everyone seems to play this multiple role lifestyle that I think he embodies well.
Hope that you enjoy this one, more to come soon.

Little bonus tutorial as well - to show the steps...

Fan Art Friday Saturday: Consistency is Key

Title: Fan Art Friday Saturday: Consistency is Key
Date: January 2 & 3, 2015
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 38.4" x 25.6"

Notes: If you're a fan of Sons of Anarchy, you'd realize that Juice is probably the most consistent character of the entire bunch - at least in terms of appearance. He looks almost exactly the same from season one to the end. It just goes to show that sometimes iconic characters appear where you'd least expect them.

"Commissioned by Ashley" (I can't help it. I love doing work that she enjoys.)

This piece really took some serious concentration. Not only was it an attempt to see how far I've grown since I started, but this was just a challenge to everything that I've learned so far. Every spot on this piece has at least two separate types of brushes, most of the piece has quite a few more, but I learned a very valuable lesson since digital painting, and that's to make every spot have multiple brush strokes to help your eye stay interested.
Hope you enjoy.

Fan Art Friday: Unity

Title: Fan Art Friday: Unity
Date: December 26, 2014
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 3564px x 3300

Notes: There are some cool things coming in Loot Crate as of late.
First they've been sending me cool shirts and posters, but then they send me this super awesome full-metal coin based around Assassin's Creed.
I was blown away by the detail and I thought, what better way to show some fandom than a fan art friday based around this cool thing!
My madam is the best... she gets me cool presents!

Fan Art Friday Saturday -- Six ft Six Head and Shoulders

Title: Fan Art Friday Saturday: Six ft Six Head and Shoulders
Date: November 5 - 6, 2014
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 2592px x 1720px

Notes: This was a piece to challenge myself to the max! I wanted to make sure that the next piece that I did was completely full of color. This one was a complete challenge in every aspect.
Sorry that it was delayed from Saturday... but I hope it was worth it.

And as always... bonus tutorial:

Fan Art Friday: Sons of Anarchy - Oh Juice

Title: Fan Art Friday: Sons of Anarchy - Oh Juice
Date: November 21 & 22, 2014
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Same as above.

Notes: Ugh. I actually ran a little late on this one. At least I can say that I'm legitimately sick this go around, but that's never an excuse, is it?
Another suggestion by Ashley. This is just so damn funny!
More soon.

Fan Art Friday: Sons of Anarchy

Title: Fan Art Friday: Sons of Anarchy
Date: November 14, 2014
Medium: Photoshop CS6
Scale: Original is 3840px x 1716px

Notes: While thinking about painting, somehow this tradition was born. Ashley was just talking about a bunch of different things, and she was like... you know what would be awesome? Fan. Art. Friday. I was like... THAT'S GREAT! And thus, a thing was born. Now I just need to keep it up.
I thought it would be fun to put an impressionist spin on a digital painting.
So I present to you, the first in a long string of paintings: Sons of Anarchy.
